I have yet to see a heat stick wear out ? A Xspaditon/ roto mold "spa" if you could call it that ! is not like a real spa. It doesn't have a heater like most spas. It uses water velocity, friction, and motor heat to heat the unit. Some even have heat jackets on the motors. This in my opinion is not a really good way to heat a spa due to the fact that is hard on the equipment. Most of the problems on these units is that the electronics cant take the heat generated with in the small compartment. Motors and pump seals seem to be problematic also. I have worked on many of these and the best advise I can give you is to cut out the heat stick and stick a small digital pack with a 4/6 kw heater in her. You will be allot happier with it if you do. If you cant afford that then check the following.

Make sure the right sized pump motor is installed in the unit.

Make sure there are no obstructions in the pump impeller.

Make sure the filter is clean and or good.

Make sure your air controls are closed when you not using your spa.

Make sure you have a spa cover on it.

Make sure that your pump motor is running all the time until desired heat is reached. Most roto molds heat at about 1/4 degree an hour so make sure you leave enough time for the spa to reach temperature. Sometimes like three days depending on where you live?

Last but not least. Don't be surprised if it takes you 3 days to heat it to 104 the use it for 10 minutes only to be sitting in luke warm water.

Good Luck

I have a Quantum spa with a leak - and with the body being almost totally sealed I cannot locate the leak. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I had a leak in my xspadition. It came from the point where the filter screws into the tub. The plastic cracked where the pvc pipe attaches to the filter. I fixed it with silicon caulk (that is safe at high heat) until I get a new fitting for the tub.

I also had trouble getting my spa to heat properly. I bought my spa from the "scratch and dent" section of a store and apparently the electronics were old. I bought a new one on-line (for 1/2 what the spa store charged) and now it is GREAT! It does take 24 hours to heat but I can regulate the temp now.

You may have to tighten the jets, They are not sealed with silicone like some spa's they just use flat gaskets. If your jet is leaking at the gasket or if you need to replace the gasket it's done from inside the tub. You need the jet tool to do it. The jet body won't move from the backside because it's foamed filled. If the jet body is cracked then you would have to cut a hole that your arm could fit in and remove the foam just under the jet. Be sure to replace the foam for this is what holds the spa together. To locate the leak fill the tub and let it leak until it stops. If it drains past the jets the it's not the jets. Then the light lens then the main drain. If it goes all the way down the make sure it's not the pump seal. Most leaks on X spa's are pump seals.

If silicon fixes your problem then go for it. If it's not leaking and the G.F.C.I breaker is good you will be safe. Make sure it's not leaking just a small drip leak can create problems with your equipment in the form of humidity. Your tub should only heat to 104 degrees. I don't think I would consider this high temp for clear silicone. You can also replace the fipt wall flange at the bottom of your filter area but it's not as easy as doing the jet gaskets.

If you read to above post some of the spa packs / 4 versions I know of ?
will wig out. I contribute this to the heat inside the cabinet messing with the electronics. If you have checked everything I have listed and still have the problems with erratic heat or no heat then replace your spaside control and control box.

Good luck

Hey Pork,

My Jet body is not cracked, and my jets are fine, but the sleeve that seals the jet body to the tub is cracked and broken on two of them.

Please see my post in this forum called "Xspaditon Parts? Help!!!

Do you know where I can obtain this sleeve? It Just won't tighten enough to keep it form leakign without the sleeves.

I need two of them.

Thanks for your help!
