 Post subject: xspadition problems

I PURCHASED A XSPADITON SPA IN AUGUST 2004. TO DATE THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE CONTROL BOX 5 TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER SAYS IT'S MOISTER CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THEY RECOMMENDED PUTTING SILICONE AROUND THE TOP SIDE AND CONTROLLER BOX PLUG IN . THIS DID'NT WORK EITHER. NOW THEY HAVE RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE TOPSIDE, CONTROL BOX AND ELECTRICAL PLUG, PLUS PUTTING THE CONTROL BOX IN A PLASTIC BAG. CAN THIS REMEDY THE ERATIC BEHAVOR AND MOISTER PROBLEM OR ARE THEY JUST DRAWING STRAWS. ALSO WOULD'NT THE HEAT FROM BELOW MELT THE PLASTIC BAG?

THANKS MIKE

They're doing the right thing, as long as the control box comes equiped with new temp sensors as well....

There isn't really any grasping at straws when it come to the X-Spadition, since there's very little to replace. There;s just the control box (w/ temp sensors), topside, and plug. Either the pump is going to work or it isn't, not much guessing. But since yous spa continues to act creatively (you didn't mention what it is or isn't doing that led them to replace the control box so many times) they're going about it the right way. All the logic is contained in the control box, none is in the topside.
Just be glad you have a dealer that's standing behind xspadition, because I think the manufacturer went out of business some time ago....

 Post subject: Xspadition parts? Help!!!
PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2005 12:39 pm
I have just bought an Xspadition spa for my back patio from an acquaintance. He told me that two of the jets are leaking because the inner sleeves have gone bad. I figured it wouldn't be too hard to replace them... boy was I wrong!!! Swine was right about the company going out of business. The company that has bought them out is Dream Maker Spa. I have contacted them and they said they have not been able to find replacement parts for the X-Spaditions that are more than a couple of years old. They said the plastic part I need was made by a company named Vico or something like that and they don't seem to be around anymore either.

I have added a jpg. attachement of the part I need. The spa jet, which I don't need, is laying next to the part I need. I need two of these. Nobody seems to have them.

The problem is, without this sleeve, I can't tighten the fitting against the wall enough to keep it from leaking. This sleeve attaches from the inside of the hot tub to the discharge hose that the jet screws into. It acts as a sandwich to seal against the inside and outside of the tub, the tighter it is the harder it seats against the inside and outside of the tub wall.

Please email me at pjones@rycomgmt.com if you can help, or post here as I'll be checking.

Please help!!!

THANK YOU!!!

Stilts

Unless the jetwall fitting (sleeve) is cracked, it can be re-used. If it's leaking, it just needs to be re-sealed (100% silicon sealant)

Unscrew it, re-silicone it, and tighten it back in... Just hope the back half (Jet body) stays put during this process...

Curious how you know it's a jetwall fitting leaking? Is it foam filled?

The guy who had the tub before me, for reasons still not understood by me, decided to remove two of the jet wall fittings from the tub.

In doing so he damaged and cracked both of the fittings.

If you look closely at the picture you can see the cracks on the inside of the fitting.

That's why I need two of them.

The tub is foam filled, but I believe I can install two new jet wall fittings without having to remove the foam... the inside of the fittings appear to be slotted for a special tool that should allow me to install them from the inside of the tub.

As far as knowing it's a fitting leak... I had actually used the tub before the guy tried to removed the jet wall fittings. It did not leak then. While I know it's possible that a leak could've developed elsewhere, I am starting with the most likely candidate. I have also let it leak out and it appears to have stopped right below the suspect jets.

So what doX you think? Any idea where I can get these parts? The two fittings I have are definitley not useable as they are both cracked and broken.

Thanks!!

I has a similar issue on a different unit type except the crack was from age. I used heavy duty marine epoxy and it worked. Unfortunitely other things broke on the unit so I ended up getting rid of it so I can't speak about longivety. One note, after I totally gooped the stuff on the Jet, there was no getting it out or off.
