 Post subject: Blower
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2004 3:52 pm
I purchased a blower with the spa pack. Everything has been working for close to a year now, however my blower has started blowing the breaker when I turn it on. It will come on and blow for a half second or so and then trip the breaker. Any sugestions?

I have turned everything else off, and then tried the blower. It stays on for almost two seconds before blowing the breaker.

THANKS!

This is with the assumption that the breaker you're talking about is the Main Breaker to the spa, (as in 30-60 Amp), and that the breaker is also a GFCI, (a ground fault type with a test button on it):

Considering that it's tripping the main breaker within 2 seconds, then you've probably got water in the blower. You may need to disconnect it from the pvc, open it up and check out the internals for any sign of water, rust, or corrosion - and clean it out real good.

Of course, take appropriate safety precautions and be sure that the breaker is turned off, the blower unplugged from the controller, etc.
