I recently developed a leak in my spa. Prior to getting the spa, it had been stored by a friend and a pack rat had nested in the insulation. After tracking the leak down, I've found that the pack rat had eaten clean through three of the small bubbler tubes that go to the individual bubble ports in the shell of the spa. A good section of each of the three tubes is missing. I've tracked it back to the point where the tubing picks up again and no water leaks from this end, so I'm assuming that the remainder of the ports are functional properly.

My question is this. I've done some searching on the web and can't seem to find replacement bubbler tubing. How hard is it to change these tubes out? Can I simply plug a new tube into the broken one and reattach it to the end port? Do the "grommets" in the casing come out to be repaired?

I could simply plug the three bubble ports, but I'd rather fix it right if it isn't too incredibly difficult.

Thanks for your help. I tried attaching pictures but could not for some reason. I'll keep working on this and try again.

Hi mclowejr,
It sounds as though the rodents munched on your tubing, and blower injectors. Use 3'8" Id Lexan, or clear tubing,

( Or Hardware Store ) and these injectors.

Thanks for the info and links. A few other questions for you. Can I by a "male-male" adapter to plug the new hose in to my old chewed off end? Also, from the looks of the air injectors on the parts pages they seem to have a bolt/nut type attachment that can be tightened to install them. My air injectors do not appear to have this type of connection. From what I can see they look as if they are snuggly compressed or glued in place. Is this possible? If so, how do you recommend getting them out?

Thanks for your help. I'm looking forward to getting my spa running and relaxing.

Hi mclowejr,

A 3/8 ID Barbed Barb will slip connect the damaged tubing. Most spa fittings are of a thread and body design, so you may want to look at your injector closely. If you can post a pic, some of the other Techs will be able to suggest solutions
