Newbie question
I bought this tub cheap and the owner told me the heater was out. I brought it home and replaced the heater (the leads inside hooked up to the board were pretty black and brittle) Ohmed out at 5 Ohms (short?)
Anyway I replaced the heater (with a tri loop) and both limit switches. Filled up tub and turned on 20 amp breaker. Ran jet pumps for a few minutes. Turned on 30 amp breaker and ran jets for a few minutes. When I turned off the jets, I do not see the circ pump running. Nor do I feel it running.
A couple questions
Does the circ pump run off the 20 amp or the 30 amp circuit?
Should I be able to tell if the circ pump is running?
Can I put a meter on the board between the black and white wires and should I see 110V?

I have read a lot about calcium build up locking up the pumps. How should I know if my pump is junk? I suspect that maybe the previous owner had the circ pump go out and it fried the heater. Is this possible. Any help would be great.

30 amp supplies power to heater only, 20 amp everything else, including circ pump.

circ pump likely bad, be sure it's not in "summer mode," be sure filter[s] is clean.

You hit the bullseye. I left the 20 amp breaker on over night and left the 30 amp heater breaker off (I was afraid I would burn out the heater) and when I awoke this morning and checked it, the circ pump was running. I read more through the owners manual and it was indeed in summer mode. I turned that summer mode switch off for now ( I am in Wisconsin and it still is not that warm out here yet). Thank you for the reply. Another quick question. I put my hand on the hose going into the heater and my hand on the hose going out of the heater. How much of a difference should there be in temp. I am paranoid that the new heater is not working and the problem is the board. But I would think I would have gotten some light blinking or other warning sign of a bad board.

The hoses will feel about the same.

Try feeling the water coming out of the return for about 30 seconds. You should be able to feel it coming out a little warmer as opposed to ambient. It's fairly subtle.
