We have recently purchased a 1994 Cal Spa. It has 2 pumps, and has a PS-5-B control. The jets seem to work fine. At first, the heater seemed to work, although the temp got very hot, too hot to get in. Now, the problem is when the thermostat is turned up to heat the tub, after about a minute you can hear a click-click and the tub turns itself off. It does not trip the breaker. It can be restarted after awhile using the reset switch.
In trying to troubleshoot this, we set out to see what else did not seem to work. There are four drains in the bottom of the tub. The two on the left side of the tub are not sucking. Also, if I put my hand in front of the skimmer, I cannot feel any suction..should I? Is this a pump problem, a heater problem, a thermostat problem or what? How do I tell???? I have cleaned the filter (new), and followed the directions on bleedling the air out (although I'm not sure I'm doing it right).
We live in an area where it seems impossible to find a professional to come look at this, and we would really like to understand how to fix our tub ourselves. The shell is in really good condition, and its big enough to fit our teenagers and a bunch of their friends! This is our first tub, so please excuse what I realize are very elementary questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like one of the pumps is not running. It is probably the one that is on the plumbing line for the heater, causing the high limit tripping.
