I have had my tub since December 1999. I have the circulation pump set to run twice per day for 2 hours at a time in the summer and 3 times per day for 2 hours per time in the winter. Recently, the pump has begun to make this electrical sounding humming noise and will not run all the time. Sometimes it will start running and run for about 30 minutes. Then it will begin making an intermittent buzzing sound and I have to turn it off. Of course it needs to be fixed before winter sets in so it doesn't freeze, but I don't want to go through the process of elimination and do not want to call someone to fix it when I can. I just need to find out what is wrong with it.

Here is the information you request:

1. '98 or '99 Sea Horse, Sea Coral 4 seat Spa
2. 230 volt circuit
3. Pinnacle Systems, Hurricane Series control
4. Air Pushbutton topside control
5. 1 Flo Master XP2 Series pump, 24 hour 2 speed
6. Thermostat is a knob on the front of the heater/timer control
7. Heater type is a 2" stainless flow through tube

I took a couple digital pictures of the pump and main control so if you need them, I can email them to you. Let me know.
Thanks,
Joe

If the buzzing noise is coming from the pump itself then there is a safe bet that your pump motor is failing...fast... and would need to be replaced, if the buzzing is coming from the control then you probably just need to replace your low-speed pump relay, however I believe that pinnacle system uses a circuit board and would therefore require a circuit board replacement ((877) 936-2223 to find a replacement), if I am incorrect then you can follow the wires from the pump into the box to determine where they connect, one of them would go to the air switch and the other would go to the relay in question, by touching this relay while activated should make it very obvious that it is the source of you problems...here are some sites on pump motors and contactors that you may find useful...
