I have a pump that is going bad.. Making a lot of noise....Is is listed at 3.65-40SPL horsepower and 8.5/2.8 amps.. Most of the pumps I see are either 3 or 4 HP with the 4HP being a slightly higher amperage... Is this an issue.. Can I go up to a 4HP with a slightly higher amperage. 12A/4.4A.. THis was a waterway pump that maybe lasted a year.. Is that typical for Waterway? Thanks in advance

A 4HP pump should be ok with your controls. That 4A difference should still fall under the wire's rating feeding the pump. You could also try to have the bearings replaced in the motor of the old pump. However, if you do decide to dispose of the old pump, I would be more than happy to keep it out of the landfill for you for the cost of shipping.
