Hello everyone I;m new here and hope I can get some help with my spa.

I have a Tiger River Bengal 2000 or 2001
The heater is on 220 and the circ pump and jets are on 110. Two different breakers.
I drained the tub and cleaned it to get it ready for spring and when I refilled it and turned it back on the power light kept flashing. OK looked at the book I found online and decided that the circ pump had gone bad so I took it out and pulled it apart and it was clogged with pollen pieces that got pulled through the inflow screen. I cleaned it out and put it back togetehr now the motor doesn't spinn up. I think the bearing are gone in it. I noticed pump making some noise before winter but didn't make notihng of it. The pump itself isnt bad just the impeller on the end I think. Is there someplace that I can just buy a new impeller and brearings? I really don't want to spend $160 on a new circ pump because the local spa place doesn't want to sell rebuild kits. Thanks for any help.

Hello everyone. Well, I pulled the motor apart again and looked at the impeller and didnt see any where where any type of berrings would be. Its basicly the inpeller and then a plate like piece then a dome shaped peice that loons like a bunt cake almost. Well I placed some waterproof lubracant on the post from the magnet part and put the pump back together. It now pumps water and the impeller spins, but it is chattering. I know this is not normal, and was wondering if anyone can give some info opn the matter. If pictures is what you need to see what I am talking about then I can post some. Thanks everyone.

It's a magnetically driven pump, all you can do is clean it. If the impellor still wobbles, not much you can do about it. It is possible to buy a replacement imellor, but nearly as expensive as the complete pump.

The impellor is a perfectly balanced sperical magnet. It rests on a ceramic ball, and you can remove it from the pump motor. The motor is sealed, there is no shaft or shaft seal.

The impellor rubbing is usually a sign of debri, scale build-up where the impellor rests against the ceramic ball, or a dying motor.

If you cleaned it sufficiently, especially where it rests over the ceramic ball, not much else to do other than replace the pump.

Good luck
