just hooked up the tub, and the pump trips after 20 sec on low speed. GFCI and circuit breaker don't trip. The other posts on the forum indicate a possible electrical problem, either a bad relay or not getting the proper voltage to the pump.

Here's what I plan to do to troubleshoot... Let me know what else I should try....

1. visually inspect wiring hookups to be sure all is per installation instructions.

2. safely using a meter, measure the voltage to the spa pack, then to the pump. ensure 240 is getting to the pump.

3. ??? where to go from here?

When you say the pump "trips", what do you mean? WHat does it "trip?"

The built in thermal overload of the jet pump? :?:

It trips at the motor (not at gfci or breaker..). I assume thermal trip...

just got done with the troubleshooting...

The pump is getting 240 volts on low for about 20 sec, then it goes to zero. The spa control continues to function, and you can see and hear the relays "clickin" but no function.

I think I have a relay the gets overheated. Not sure if it is because the pump is shot, or if the relay control is bad.

help. what's next?

Hope this isn't a dumb question, but the motor is a 220v motor, right? So the pump works ok for about 20 seconds on low speed, then, the control box turns low speed off on it's own?

Might be a fault within the logic of the PCB, or a tripped sensor of some sort. Is this a particular brand of spa or spa pack? Is it a curcuit board, or just wires and relays inside the control box?
