My new caldera spa is displaying the message "_._._._". The jets are not operational when this happens. In order to get it running again, I have had to flip the breaker off for around an hour. The manual does not describe this problem (or much of anything).

I'm not sure how priming relates, but I did not prime it before start up. However, the amount of time it takes before it gets running again may suggest some internal overheating issue.

Obviously, I have no idea what I'm dealing with. Any help would be appreciated. I'm planning on calling the dealer, but I want to understand what I might be dealing with so they don't charge me any more than they already have.

Thanks

Hello Porkrhind,

Well if you have New Caldera Spa ...... Year Make Model ? It most likely has warranty on it ?

Try this,

Reset the spa and put it in summer mode.........This may help.

Set temp to 80*. Simultaneously press and hold for three seconds the temp up button and the temp down button to activate summer mode. You will see a sunny icon appear on your panel. This should be in your owners manual ? This will prevent heat transfer from the circ pump by turning it off for a set period of time during each day. The heat drift can over heat the spa water near the heater and sensor causing " -------" errors during hot summer months.

Short of this if it continues I would seek a tech to have a look at it. Other things can cause ------- errors. But it may be as simple as that.

Hope this helps.

oink oink !

I'll try this out tonight.

Thanks a lot. It is definitely under warranty, but I don't want to call the guys out if I don't have to - - especially if it was something I overlooked in the owner's manual.

I hope this is it. Thanks.
