I have a CalSpas model 6300 that is two years old. It has been working great with no issues until this morning. When I lifted off the cover the light was flashing on and off and changing colors and the digital display is not working. I turned it off at the breaker and let it sit for a few minutes and then turned it on. The primer pumps started working but nothing in the display. It usually takes a few minutes and then the low speed pumps kick in and it did all of that, the temperature appears to be near 100 as there is plenty of steam coming off with the air temps only in the 20's. When the pumps cycled on as they do during startup the light started flashing again and changing colors. It is as if the light button is stuck down. I can't turn on the jets however the bigger pumps driven off of the options buttons do cycle on and off when I push the options button. The weather just turned cold here but I did not have any issues last winter. Any thoughts??

Sounds like a bad topside. Perhaps some moisture has gotten inside the unit?

Update... 11/30/08

I took off the sides to reach the controls and it became all too clear what the issue was... Squirrels!!!! As I mentioned it just turned cold and the little buggers were storing a winters worth of nuts and pine cones however, I guess that was not enough as they also chewed on the wire loop from the control box to the pumps. After I cleaned it all out I found that although the cornes of the external walls were square the underlying frame was not!! Each corner was cut back about eight inches exposing a nice triangular space about six or eight inches across for the little stowaway's to enter unaccosted!! So, I stuffed the holes with steel wool and then backfilled from the inside with expanding foam.

Today I watched as the little guy went from corner to corner trying to figure out where the door went?? It has only been 24 hours but so far so good... I was tempted to put up a small sign for the little guy directing him the neighbor's tub.. he he he...
