 Post subject: calspa "EC" code
PostPosted: Sat May 22, 2004 11:42 am
#1 I've got a calspa with an "EC" code on the control panel. It flashes between the temp reading. The electronic box inside has install date of 4-1-00, S/N 13710. The sticker inside say "sys 2100". Any idea what the code means?

#2 There is a switched valve on the water inlet side of the pump that has broken off. it says "press:air:trol" on it. What is this for?

#3 Where is the best spot on the internet to get replacement parts and a manual for this hot tub?

Thank you.

The only thing I can help you with is the EC code, which means "economy" mode, which means that the spa will come on twice a day for 2 hours (I believe it's 2 hrs and not 4 hrs). That's about all I know about it!!

I just called my local Cal Spa dealer today and asked him this very same question My manual didnt mention how to go from standard to economy mode for the 5000 series control panel. He told me that to go between the normal and the economy modes was accomplished by first pushing the heat button followed by pushing the light button...I hope this helps it worked for me.

Thank you for the tip on changing the spa back to Standard Mode (St) from Economy Mode (Ec). Our hot tub was flashing the temperature and then the "Ec" code as well and would not heat up for me.

Pressing the "Temperature" button and then the "Light/Jets" button allowed me to change the system back to Standard. Once you press those buttons, the "Ec" code comes on and stays on (flashing), and then you can press the "Light/Jets" button to toggle between Standard and Economy modes.

Thanks again!
