I pulled the filter out to check it and for whatever reason the blower came on for a few seconds then shut off and now the nothing funtions at all. The topside (Balboa) digital display just flashes a little bar and non of the buttons work. Is it possible that water got on the phone type plug-in on the board and shorted out the topside controls or did something on the control board go bad? All the fuses on the circuit board are still good. When I turn on the breaker at the subpanel I hear a click on the control board but still nothing functions. Everything worked great up till I checked the filter. Thanks for you help.

Does the topside display anything after you turn off the power, let it set and power it back up? Maybe a PR?

The topside display flashes a bunch of stuff all at once for about 1/2 a second when I first turn on the breaker then it returns to a slow blinking bar. This is all I get no matter how long I wait. Nothing else shows up after that. Is there any way to determine if it is bad and not the control board? Is there any way to activate the system without the topside display connected to verify that everything else works?

Last night I checked the voltages everywhere on the circuit board according to the manua,l and I have the proper voltages everywhere but still nothing functions and the topside display still flashes a single bar and sometimes the number 8. I have to believe something shorted out in the topside display. Is there any way to test it before I assume thats it and buy a new one?

Alfanut,
I have the same unit with another problem. To test my problem Balboa had me turn off the system at breaker, jumper the PR (program Rest) and unplug the top side control wait 3 min. and turn the breaker back on and remove the PR jumper. This sets it back to factory new defaults.
The unit should go thru the startup seq. without the control. Takes about 5-6 min. See your manual.

Jimmy, I tried what you said and no luck. I've got power everywhere there should be but still nothing comes on with or without the topeside controls connected even in default mode per the instructions you posted. Does this mean the units board is bad even though all voltages tets correctly? This really has me stumped.
