Post subject: Cal Spa CanCun, Balboa 2300. Miswired on re-hookup Posted: Tue Mar 02, 2004 10:22 pm |

Hello, I had a rat problem so I ended up digging out foam, etc and fixing leaks. After 3 months I have finished and upon rerouting the hard wire into the control box, I negligently bumped off 4 female plugs and then replaced them (they are all from the same area but didn't knoe which one went where). When powering my spa up, it would go from power on to low pump to turbo pump and then repeat until I turned off the breaker. I have a 2000 Cal Spas Cancun with a Balboa 2300 control. I tried changing the order but to no avail. Now it just clicks when I turn on the breaker no matter how I change them around. I have looked on the panel for the wiring diagram but can't tell which wire is connected to what sensor (it says the wires are sensor and control lights and pressure/flow sensors). Cal Spas is useless and want me to hire out a their tech for $80 an hour when he's available (almost 2 weeks as we are a little ways away). Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks, don

You may have blown a board fuse on this thing if nothing's working (it's just clicking). I'm talking about the large fuses that may be on the circuit board.
Do me a favor, if you've got a digital camera, take some pics of your setup and post them here. (Name them with a unique kind of id, like donnysd1.jpg, donnysd2.jpg... etc)
I need pics of the side of your spa controller with nothing plugged in, (since the order's all out of whack now), as well as over all pictures of the entire equipment setup that you're dealing with. Also, a full size pic of your control system with the cover off of it.
We just might be able to get you thru this thing if we got pics.
Thanks.

Sorry for being a true techno-moron, but I can't figure out how to get my pictures on here. They take a long time to upload one at a time (no DSL as yet). Can you give me a lesson?

There's a section that says "Add attachments", just above the Submit Button for posting.
Attachments in this case will be .jpg image files on your computer.
Click on the "Browse" button on the right, and select the image file from your computer. Then click on "Add Attachment".
You can add up to 3 pictures for each post.
When you're finished adding, then click on "Submit" at the very bottom, and your photos will be uploaded.

Thanks. I am having difficulties with the pics. When they're done uploading, the file disappears and I have to start over. The file is 980kb. Is that too large? I appreciate all your effort.

980 kb picture is big enough for a big screen tv!
They need to be down sized to less than 250k. I mean, most web pics do well at 640x480 or 800 x 600 resolution and about 80k in size.
If you can't downsize them, then just email them to (link removed for spam bot protection).
Thanks.
