Hello, I hope you can answer my question. I have a balboa circuit board, lite leader icon 10 with a weird issue. The top side controller flashes 104 degrees. I have replaced the sensors (both as they come in pairs) same result. I have replace the circuit board same results and I have replaced the top side controller, same. As soon as I turn on the breaker, it shows “O” in the display for about a couple of seconds than quickly go to 104 and just flashes. If I hold the button to lower the temp, the display will start to go down, all the way to 80 and as soon as I let go of the button it will clime right up to 104 all the while still flashing. It will heat up the tub and get hot appox. 104 with temp gun and shut off like it suppose to and still flashing 104. If I tried to hold the pump button for 2nd stage, it will flash f1, f2, f3, f4 f5, f6 and start from f1 again. And keep repeating it self unless I hold the pump button down again. I also notice that the light does not work. I have the power converted to 220 volts. I also put it back to 120V and the same. My flow meter has 2 ohms while running and goes open when the pump goes off. I believe that’s how it works. The filters are clean and I tried to run the tub without the filters also. The tub is a weslo day break 510. Any help or ideas would be great.

Sorry for the late response as I just found this post.

I don't know where you got your parts to replace on this system, but what it seems like you are experiencing is a (proprietary) compatibility issue that is typical with lite leader spa brand specific components.

You didn't indicate whether or not it was working to some extent prior to changing out parts -

ie, if you go back to the original board and topside - does it still operate the exact same way?

Failing this, I'd recommend a complete replacement unit as these things are a nightmare to service at the level you've been attempting, particularly where you're dealing with a proprietary unit (Icon/weslo daybreak).

Thanks for responding to my issue. This all started when I cleaned my filters and added some chemicals to the water. At first it would flash OH and when I called the help line at Weslo they say it was a bad sensor and directed me to a parts center they use( US parts center) I ordered the sensor and after I installed it and refilled the tub, it seemed like that was the problem. The temp would gradually clime and I think that’s when I noticed it only flash 104. That’s when I compared ohms resistance from the old sensors with the new one I have gotten. The reading was the same. Then I replaced the circuit board which I found at a different suppler. I bought the top side controller from the same place I bought the board. I just reinstalled the old board with the same results. I am sending the new board back because they want to check it out (action spa repair, inc.) and test it, they could not think of anything else. I have also talked to Balboa help line and had me try a few things and nothing changed and told me that I have a defective board. I think what your saying makes sense. Do you think I should get a new sensor from the same company that sold me the controller and the circuit board? When you recommend replacing the complete unit, what component comes with that? Thanks again for you help.

These things are not really designed for internal component replacement and precisely due to problems you are having with yours, my company does not recommend replacement of any components of this system, but rather a complete drop in replacement controller.

You'll notice our warning here (which applies to the generic LL board - and any others that use the same type of system) :
http://spapartsnet.com/Circuit-Boards/5 ... 9_1_1.html

These headaches are just not worth it. The systems in place work fine for a number of years, but when they're done - they're done. Even in the field I never replace components of these systems. It's always a new control or I walk away.

Either of these two units will work for your system:

http://spapartsnet.com/Spa-Packs-Contro ... 8_3_1.html

or...

http://spapartsnet.com/Spa-Packs-Contro ... 8_2_1.html

Both of these units complete with a new topside control, cords, etc... ready to install. Plumbing should not be an issue as they both use the same size of heater.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. That was best advise I have heard. I will replace the complete unit. The money that I spent for the parts, I could of had a new system already. Thanks again
