Hey everybody
I'm a complete newbie. I bought a used Jacuzzi whirlpool select laser spa from craigslist. The board is balboa h716. After many issues, I had it finally running like the guy claimed when he sold it to me.
It has been less than 2 months since I finally started operating it, and used it around 5 times or so.
When I know i won't be using it for a week, I just turn the gfci off. Last night I told my roommate to power it up. After I came to home 3 hours later the water was still cold (at 74 degrees) and he said it was around 71 when he started it. Last night when I put it on high mode, after 10 seconds or so, the heater light was turning on and the spa started heating. I read the forums, people adviced to take the filter out and see if it is a flow issue. I took the filter out, the same deal. When you put it back to low, after 3 seconds or so, the heater light turns off.
Today I tried it again. The same thing, except for now the heater light is not up although it is still heating at high speed. But the problem is, the high speed automatically shuts off after certain time, so the spa is never reaching its temperature, and the low speed is constantly running.
The low speed is by the way extremely slow. I can hardly feel the flow when I put my hand in front of one of those jets. The filter doesn't really look that dirty. And I can only see one of the jets bubbling only a little bit at the slow speed.
I also tried to manipulate the pressure switch without knowing anything about it. So I believe I did something wrong over there too...
I just got my electrical engineering degree, so I have general knowledge about electronics and testing equipment, and have a multimeter right by my bed.
So... Just let me know what I can do...
Oh by the way. The irresponsible person who sold me this unit probably tried to fix something by himself. When we fired it up initially 2 months ago and saw it wasn't working, we troubleshooted it and found out the secondary pump was connected to the 1st pump jack, the first pump was connected to the ozonator jack, and the ozonator was connected to the 2nd pump jack. So I have doubts about my ozonator working. I really don't know what it is good for, or how to check if it is working or not...
So, who can help me?
Oh, thanks by the way
