Thanks to the advice on this forum my used '98 Sovereign is up and running. Two problems though.

One, the "Clean" button on the control panel does not work. I've just been running the jets for 10 minutes instead. Does the Clean mode do anything different from regular Jets mode other than shut off after 10 minutes?

Two, the topside Jet button does not work. There is a Light control button there as well and that works. Is there an easy fix for this?

Thanks!

The clean button does nothing remarkable- it's just a "timed" jet button.

As far as the aux panel not working-the original fiber-optic panel was retro-fit in 2000, if yours has already had the retro-kit installed, a new aux panel is about ~120, if you need the complete conversion (includes a new control head also), it's over 300, IIRC.

The fiber-optic panel is pretty cool- the aux panel is essentially just a few mirrors on the backside of the buttons- no electronics whatsoever. Just a fiber optic cable run to each button to detect lchanges in light. If a drop of water gets in there- it can render the function in/op. I'd like to say it's just a metter of drying it out, but these things were hell on tech's. I swear, sometimes we would have to do a rain dance to get 'em working properly. And once you start working on it- it has all kinds of ghosting issues -turning on/off by itself- a royal pain. If you start toying with it, user beware-it could just make the problem worse.

My advice, either live with it, or replace it.

Good luck

Thanks for the info, Swine. Based on what you said I think I'll just live with it for now. It's not too hard to lean over the front on press the main button. :D
