 Post subject: HotSprings Diehl Timer Replacement (5-wire to 4-wire?) Question

It looks like the Diehl timer from my 1987 Hot Springs Jetsetter finally died. It is a 5-wire 120v model that says Typ 880, T85 and 067 18801-030

As you can see, one of the wires connects to two terminals.

Will the 4-wire models like this work:

No, that will not work. If you use the timer you found, the device that is run by the red wire will no longer function. In your picture with the wires, the top two are your 120V power to timer. The bottom terminal is your common (power in) to the timer, and the blue wire in the middle is the N/O output from the timer. The Red wire is the N/C output. When the timer switches, it switches power from red to blue. If you absolutely can not find the exact replacement timer, I can show you how to add a relay and make the 4 wire timer work.

I was able to call the nice folks that sponsor this forum an get an extract replacement.

Now my spa is happy again.
