Hi Newbie to spas and this forum thanks for any help. I accidentally posted earlier on the wrong thread so these may be repeat sounding questions. I have a vitaspa essence tub, just started it up after purchasing with house. FLO indication comes on, I can definitely hear that one pump(Magnetek 3hp/2speed) does not come on, I hear the first click then shut down. The other pump seems to work fine. How can I tell if pump or motor is bad? Would this cause flo indication or do I still need to worry about heater pump? Do I need the exact replacement or anything that matches those specs would be fine? Thnaks for any help.

Use a volt meter, if the motor is getting the proper voltage but not running the motor is bad.

FLO is the computer not getting the correct signal from the pressure switch, if it does not close a few seconds after the computer stars the motor, and open a few seconds after the computer turns off the pump motor, it declares a FLO error.

Usally anything close to what you have will work fine.

One more thing to check would be the filter. I also inherited a spa and after turning it on was greeted with a FLO indication on my Coleman. Changed the filter and it went away. It sounds like you may have more going on with one motor not turning on but just passing something else along. ;)
