Hi, my Jacuzzi whirlpool tub was new in 2000; it is the Bellavista 5'. After a lightning strike which killed a couple of other things in my house, the pump came on and will not respond to the controls topside; I turned the electrical breaker off. I need some help troubleshooting and repairing it.
Looking from underneath, I see the controls topside appear to be a circuit board with a computer communications cable plugged in, and it is glued in to the tub body; also there is a black box between the tub and the pump. Can someone help me get started with repairs? Thanks

Post a digital photo of the underskirt of your spa (showing all equipment), and a photo of the top side control panel.

At this point I'd say your minimum investment (and/or part of your insurance claim if it's covered) is going to be around $425 in parts (or more depending upon equipment) to get it back up and running.

Try to size the photos in the 100K range if possible.

hi, thanks a bunch; I'll get the photos tonight. Meanwhile last night I filled the tub with water and turned the breaker on. The thing works fine, doesn't leak, etc., but the control panel will not turn the light off nor will it turn the pump off. It does seem to respond to the other controls: more or fewer bubbles, etc. I did not try it but I bet the pump will still run with the water drained 9not good of course). I thought perhaps a couple of relays (light and pump) have welded points. If they are in the Black Box between the pump and the tub they are going to be a bear to access.
Since I have $1000 deductible insurance, I have to try to fix it.
More later (photos).
My unit is model M250000
