What is the high limit normally set at in our hot tubs? It seems that anything over 104 it just runs the pump and not the heater. I'm wondering if I can't go over 104? It heats to 104 with the dial only a little over half way turned out. Why make the dial go so far if it only goes to 104?

The high limit doesn't control the upper end of the temperature range capability - controller software does.

Normally, you should be able to go as high as 109-115 before the high limit will trip your system off line.

If your system uses a resistive temperature sensor, you can insert xxx value resistor in line with the temp sensor to fake it out, but this can be dangerous to do, if you don't know what you're doing, and you are not aware of the consequences... and not fully observant and aware of what is going on while testing out specific resistive values. You could literally melt down your entire spa, or worse cause yourself / others specific bodily harm with the higher temperatures / incorrectly recalibrated temperature detection scheme.
