I have a Arizona Pacific Spa (2002 or 2003 model). It has the LX-10 topside control (4 button) and spa pack. The topside control stopped working. It just displayed the temperature. I was not able to increase or decrease the heat, turn the light on or off or turn the jets on or off. I replaced the topside control and now I can turn the light on and off, and turn the jets on and off (low, high and off). The topside control has no LED display and I cannot increase or decrease the heat. Could the spa pack be bad, or could the new topside controller be defective? Thanks

I also have an LX-10 equipment pack with a 4 button (peanut control) that has a very similar problem. The origional top side failed, so I purchased a new one from Allied Innovations in Las Vegas. Installed the new unit and all I get is a single "0" on the display. The high/low/off pump button works, the light also works, but the display will only show a zero, no temp reading, so I cannot even see if the temperature increases and decreases when the buttons are depressed. Any help would be great. Pete

Talked to a technical support guy at spa depot and he said that the revision of the chip on the circuit board is old. I ordered a new chip (cost about $35) and I will install it this weekend. Look at your circuit board and see what the revision number is, mine was 2.5 or something like that, now the chip is version 5.1.
Stay tuned, I'll post the results of the new chip.

Got the new chip and installed it. Only took about 10 minutes and everythig is working now. Here's what I did.
To pull the old chip out I used a very small flat head screwdriver and used it to wedge up one side then used a chip puller to remove the chip. You can use a screwdriver and your fingers if you can grip the chip.
Make sure that the new chip is installed in the same position as the old one (i.e. front of the chips facing the same way).
When I turned the power back on for some reason the GFCI tripped a few times but then worked. Not sure if that was related but figured I would mention it.

OK, everything works now. I purchased the chip upgrade (rev 5.31) and installed it the same way as the old one (mine was 1.23). Even checked the injection mold marks just to make sure it was not backwards. I got nothing. No pump, no display, nada. Something in "mikeinsurprise" comments made me think it might be reversed. Worth a try right? Bingo! The sticker on the chip is now upside down but right away it all started up. I didnt have the GFCI faults, which suites me fine. THANKS FOR EVERYONES HELP. These forums are great!
