Greetings,
I just recently aquired a 2004 Jacuzzi J-350 with an Ozonator. My question is that the ozone icon on my display is not coming on and I do not see any apparent bubbles coming out of the circulation ports. I am figuring that the cd chip needs to be replaced but I don't know if I can just replace that or if I have to buy a whole new unit. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

the only function of the CD chip is to generate the corona arc for ozone generation. If your icon isn't lighting up, your spa isn't telling the ozonator to operate. I'm not familier with your setup, so this is about all I have for you at this time.

the ozone icon on a jacuzzi or sundance spa will only illuminate if the ozonator is working correctly (ie drawing power)
it may not illuminate for these reasons:
the ozone cycle has not started after a power out or is not set 24hr
the ozone generator has failed - if you have a rectangular window that glows purple, you have a replaceable chip, if not its likely a spark generator version.
either way i'd replace with the better spark generator version - not familiar with jacuzzi part numbers -
another less likely cause is a failed relay on the pcb

I replaced the dead tube type ozone on a sundance/sentry 850 with a chip type unit. The ozone icon only shows intermittently although my meters show the ozone unit drawing power. My guess is that the chip type units don't draw as much current as the tube type and the 850's current detection is "on the edge" if you swap the unit. Is that a reasonable guess or should I dig deeper.

have never fit a ozonator to a sundance not made for sundance - either uv or cd will indicate fine.
if you've used a different brand possibly your assumption is correct as the circuit making the icon come on is load related - ust not sure of what load that is. cd generators can run at very low power draw
alternatively, your new unit is not working properly
