I bought a used hot tub and am trying to get it running before my wife kills me. It is beginning to snow and it is very cold...need help pronto. It is a 1992 Sundance Rio, single pump, with a Sundance 400 series topside. I fixed a broken air manifold and busted jet, filled with water and then connected power to it. At first only the light would turn on and off...nothing else. I remembered the interlocks on the door so I connected them and tried the controls. I could not change modes, the heat light wouldnot come on regardless of thermostat setting, the jets would not fire, but the air blower did work. I started rotated the dial on the control box. When it hit certain points, the pump did start and circulate the water. I tried the jets and mode button and they still did not work. Also, now the spa light was on and would not respond...I could not turn it off now. I noticed the wires to the flow sensor on the heater were broken so I spliced them back togeter. I tried jumping the flow sensor and that did not change things. I read that I should try jumping the temp sensor out so I did that (while using the dial to run the pump) and as soon as I jumped across the wires, the pump shut off and the heat light came on(althought it wasn't heating). When I removed the jumper, the pump would start back up after 5 seconds or so. The only control I seem to have from the topside is the air blower althought I know the light worked when I first hooked it up. I have power at the line in on the board for the heater but no power at the heater itself. Am I missing something....a bad sensor somewhere, is my topside control cooked. Please tell me how to bypass some of these sensors and try to get something going. I am outside every day refilling the tub in below zero temperatures, testing it, and draining it at the end of the day. What do I do....please some suggestions(saying don't buy a used hot tub has already been given thanx)
