I own a 2000 model Blue Ridge spa. It's 220V with digital topside controls. About a month ago, I lifted the cover and the entire spa is dead, as if you just threw the breaker to it. I checked the breaker and it is not thrown. I checked the 3 fuses inside the spa pack and they are all good. I checked with a volt meter and power is getting to the spa pack. I called and talked to a guy that sells the spa pack for this spa and he told me it was probably hit by lightning and the spa pack is dead. I ordered another one for $600. I live in rural east Texas and can't find anyone that really knows what they are doing to look at it. I was very careful to hook it up correctly, refilled the spa and (with fingers crossed) threw the breaker to the spa. The topside controls light up, blows a few bubbles out of the jets, and about 5 seconds later goes dead exactly like it was before. No fuses blown, no breaker thrown but completely dead. I called and talked to the man I ordered the part from and he is surprisingly gracious enough to send me another one. Now I am scared to hook it up fearing it will do the same thing again and fry it's third control pack. I am at a total loss for what to do. Could there be a short in the heater, pump, etc.. that could cause this to happen. Thanks so much for any help.
