I Have a tub that is around 8 years old with Gecko controls. Today I found the spa side control illuminated but no LED display. Checked all of the fuses, checked voltage to the board, all looked o.k.

Well, you didn't give much info about what the thing's doing in your post. Need more info...
1. Is the controller going thru it's normal heating and filter cycle?
2. Do the buttons work when you push them?
3. Seeing that it's 8 years old, what version of the Gecko controller do you have? MSPA-1, MSPA-2, TSPA-X, or SSPA-X?

pageup,
thank you for your prompt reply.
The spa control is a MSPA-1
There is no action at all, heat, pump, light or otherwise.
The spa side control is illuminated (back lit) but the buttond do nothing,
Thanks again

The control will work without a functioning topside, and seeing how it's doing nothing, you're most likely looking at a defective main board.
Ughh, not cheap either, list is 383.12. That is, if you want to do it yourself, if you want to send in the entire control and topside, it'll cost that plus installation and shipping, and for all of that you'd almost be better off getting a new control anyway.
If you want to explore your options on this, call us at 1-877-936-2223.

pageup,
Thank you. Although not encouraging, at least I know what to expect.
What a great site. I'll return often.
