Believe my control panel is fried. The pumps were turning on
and off by themself. I have been looking for a replacement but
don't want to spend $ 450.00 dollars for one. Does anyone
know where I might find one cheaper than that ?
Thanks

When it comes to circuit boards you are better off paying the $450.00 and getting a warrenty. When you buy used you could be getting just what you are getting now.

You may not have a bad panel at all. I have 2 sundance panels, and both exhibit that problem when the topside connector becomes loose or if they are coroded. Seems that the main board "forgets" what it is doing without the full connection of the topside control. By chance, what model is the mainboard? Check your connections, remove them and check for corosion, and let us know what you find.

what model? and do you mean the circuit board or the top-side controls? i might need to replace the controls on my 1989 Sundance / Sentry 605 soon.

it seems like there is a Balboa version (looks identidcal except for graphics).

see the attached picture. does anyone know whether these controls are interchangeable? i hope so, because the balboa version looks like the exact same thing and is over $100 cheaper...

so if someone out there is in the know on this then maybe we could save some serious cabbage...

I don't know that answer, but I can tell you this, if it were me, I would try it because I would be willing to bet they are made by the same company. But just be prepared that it is not guarenteed to be your problem. That is where I would start, but you might have to replace your board as well. Then again, if you get the new topside, and the board is bad, you replace the board as well, you now have a spare topside!
