Good Afternoon...
My name is Brad Aukes and I am working on a Sundance Spa for my wife who needs it for therapy after a back injury due to an auto accident. With my spa water temp. on the screen of 9o degrees, in standard mode, the primary pump will engage, but as soon as the heat icon comes on the screen, the spa shuts down and kicks out my 50amp. ground fault breaker.

Any ideas? I would appreciate any help at all. I thought about unwiring my heater wires to see if it will remain running when the icon comes on but not hooked up to the heater. This I thought might indicate that my heater element may be bad?

Thanks;
Brad

You're on the right track. Remove the heater wires (BOTH)

If it doesn't trip, replace the heater.
