I have a 1999 Sundance Tango spa that has performed well up until this year (it is now out of waranty on controls and pump). The dealer that sold me the tub is no longer a Sundance dealer. Someone else in town has picked up the line, but I have no relationship with this dealer.

First the GFCI keep tripping two months ago, but I replaced the quick disconnect with a switch type and that problem went away. Sunday afternoon I went out to check the chemicals and discovered the water was cool (around 50 degrees) and the display showed all dashes which according to the manual is "call the dealer for service". I tried turning the power off and back on. The pump would start to run and the display showed OH 114 (which according to the manual indicates the water is too hot, which I knew was not right). After about 10 seconds the all dashes re-appeared and the spa shut down. Being a sunday afternoon and with below freezing temperatures, I drained the tub and opened the two fittings on the pump to drain the water from the pump in an attempt to winterize the tub and not end up with a spa-cicle. I also opened the control panel and got a faint whiff of burned electronics.

My guess is either a bad sensor (explaining the too hot message) or a bad circuit board (I doubt if the board is serviceable except to replace it at aroround $ 400 for the board itself). It might possibly be a bad heater element. Basically I am looking for a service manual that has more in depth troubleshooting techniques then the owners manual provides. Sort of a Chilton's for spas. Does such a thing exist for Sundance spas?

Has anyone else seen this problem and can recommend testing and repair steps?

I am having the same problem. Did you ever get that service manual you were looking for? If so, where?

Thanks.
