Yesterday on my Sundance Cameo 1995, some of the buttons stopped working. The pump controls, temp controls, air, and light, no longer work. The other 4 buttons still work. The tub holds its temp, and cycles like normal. Any ideas?????
Thanks!!!!

Due to the very expensive (and almost sole proprietary source) nature of that series of components, very little tech info exists on these systems.

You've basically got four options -

A. Replace the topside control panel (very expensive).
B. Replace the circuit board (very expensive).
C. Replace both (without a doubt - extremely expensive).
D. Replace the entire controller with something that makes sense, for about the price of a new circuit board and get rid of this problem forever.

Being that it's 10 years old, and you can't buy parts to troubleshoot this thing, (eg they can't be returned if what you bought didn't solve the problem), I always recommend D.

We have special configurations to replace that specific system.

No matter what you do, something's going to have to be replaced..

That said, you might try turning off the power for about a minute and turning it back on again just to see what happens.

I had a funny feeling that would be your reply...... What is the brand and configuration for an entire replacement that you speak of? I am more than capable of installing it myself so I just need to order the right one. Thanks so much!!!!!

What model is your panel? If you open the door of the main panel, does it say "850 LCD"? If it does, maybe I can help discover which item is bad. I have that system, and if you feel up to shipping the topside to me, I can hook it up and see if it is in the topside or the main panel. However, if you still want to opt to replace the whole unit with an aftermarket universal, I might be interested in the old parts (as Pageup noted, they are hard to come by and I like spare parts, even if they don't fully work)

Hey Charger!
It is a 800 lcd. Is that bad or good? I am still trying to decide what to do..... Do the universal new systems make it easy to hook up all of the sensors, flow, temp, and all of that stuff? The pumps and power are easy, but I wondered about all of the small wire stuff. And also, do they have a universal that is similar in programming cycles, etc. I have really enjoyed the flexibility of this system. Some people I know don't have the flexibility in their tub. Do you have any advice on a brand/model for a new one? or what you would do? And if I go that route I would definitley work with you on the old stuff. Thanks for the help.......

My personal feeling is that if you can keep it as close to original, the better. Especially on a propriority system like you and I both have. Aftermarket kits are often self-contained in that they have their own sensors and such that you need to install. Sundance has to be by far the worst when it comes to it's propriority nature. Balboa is a good system, very reasonable, and would have a lot of the same features. But, I hate to admit, I've had VERY limited experiance with them, so I am not sure how they would be to retrofit into the Sundance.
