Due to the very expensive (and almost sole proprietary source) nature of that series of components, very little tech info exists on these systems.
You've basically got four options -
A. Replace the topside control panel (very expensive).
B. Replace the circuit board (very expensive).
C. Replace both (without a doubt - extremely expensive).
D. Replace the entire controller with something that makes sense, for about the price of a new circuit board and get rid of this problem forever.
Being that it's 10 years old, and you can't buy parts to troubleshoot this thing, (eg they can't be returned if what you bought didn't solve the problem), I always recommend D.
We have special configurations to replace that specific system.
No matter what you do, something's going to have to be replaced..
That said, you might try turning off the power for about a minute and turning it back on again just to see what happens.
