Hi..

We have a spa that floated during the storm surge from Hurricane Wilma (it was ours to begin with -- it just floated around our porch although I do have a picture of someone's floating down our canal during the surge *LOL*)

Here's the specs:
Vita Sport Spa Quest U100 "quality tested 9/2002" (according to sticker on panel)
It's on it's own 220 circuit breaker
DM Industries Universal Control Panel U115
Vita PCB L200
American Zettler relays on it
Topside controls: electronic

Anyhow, we hosed the control panel down with fresh water & then used either CRC or Corrosion X (I can't remember which one he used & he's not here right now) on every thing... We had to replace the pump & 1pole relay(?) already (the relay screamed when the pump/heater tried to come on) -- they're both fine now... it appeared it was working alright and overnight it looks like the relay to trigger the lower speed of the pump let go... I'm getting a FLO error and the lower pump speed won't run. We took the power line (I'm sure I'm not using the right terminology) off the lower speed relay & connected it to the hi speed relay & the lower pump speed came on fine.. so that's why we're thinking the relay.. but now we're wondering if we should replace the adjustable pressure switch too?

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone had any success w/replacing the relays? And if there are any other things we should watch for over time?

Thanks
Cols

since you had water in everything, you will want to flush everything with not only fresh water, but DISTILLED water, and thoroughly dry. Then you will want to use dielectric grease (available at automotive supply houses) and remove every connector you find, coat it, and re attach. You will experiance corrosion constantly down the road otherwise. It does sound like that relay went bad.

Floating spas...could have been used as lifeboats? I would have loved to seen that....and would love to get my hands on a lot of those hurricane damaged spas!
