PLEASE HELP!!! The wiring is melting on the pump side plug into the control box of the xspadition I bought from a friend. I tried to unplug the connection but the plastic just crumbled. The control box is a HT1000 Y2K. The GFI continued to stay on while the wiring was melting. I have the tub connected to its own 20amp breaker. Also it is leaking at the pump, and some other undisclosed area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The connector is melting due to a bad connection at the plug. Heat is being generated due to the resistance of the corosion. A good fix would be to replace the wires, from the pump, straight to the circuit board, and get rid of that connector. The pump leak is probably due to the seal being bad on the pump, and may be replacable, as long as the shaft isn't rusted. If the shaft is rusted, you will probably expect to replace the pump impeller as well.
