Hi.
Im hoping you can help.
I have a Spaform Oslo 2000 Spa with a Balboa control system which I bought 2 years ago.
The local service agent is about as much use as a chocolate teapot in as far as my problem goes.

Basically my Spa when filled and powered up cycles though all modes.

IE Low speed, Low speed with spa light, High speed, highspeed with light and is stuck in this loop.
The control panel allows me to change the temp, but the mode selector wont operate because of the loop.
The engineer turned up to look at it about 2 months ago and when I powered it up, it worked fine....typical! No fault found.....

Its now started doing the same thing again.
Im not getting any error indicators.

I have replaced the Flow/Pressure switch, but that hasnt cured the problem. Up until this my spa has performed perfectly.
I have looked through the forums but cant find anything relavent to this particular problem and Im hoping that some of you Spa Guru's out there can help me.

Regards
Adam

My initial thought is that either some moisture found it's way under the membrane of your keypad, or the keypad has collapsed alltogether, causing it to "think" that someone is holding the button down all the time. Since the Balboa control goes through an IC chip on the board, and it's all potted (sealed to prevent moisture from entering), there is little one can do to test this button to find out for sure. Replacement of your topside control is likely necessary.

You were right.
My freind is an electronics engineer and he removed all the potting compound and the build quality of this particular switch needs alot to be desired.
Despite the potting compound, there is no conformal coating on the copper tracks and many were covered with vert de gris.
The Piezo mode select switch is broken.

Does anyone have an idea how much a replacement topside panel is?

Its a 2 button model.

Also the tub is only 2 yrs old.

FYI
I am still waiting for the Spaform dealer to come back to me with an answer from Spaform as to this problem resolution, which, thanks to this forum I already have.
Also still waiting on price for topside control panel... Great service from them :(

Basically
Problem = Spa cycling all modes regardless of control input.
Fix = Bad switch / Replace topside control
