Recently purchased a USED(Never again) allure vita spa that is about 7 years old. Its been installed for about 1 week and we've been using it on a regular basis. Last night the temperature was the hottest that it has ever been and when we got into the spa about 10 mins later the entire tub just shuts off. We reset the GFI and the tub came back on. We also lowered the temp setting. About 10 mins later does the same thing, just shuts off. This time we left it off until we can discover more about the problem. It runs on 220.

Maybe thermal overload? We don't like it as hot as it was and I think one of our sons may have turned it up.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, apparently it was doing the thermal heater overload. I guess based on a discussion with a Vita spa dealer that the gfci will trip if the heater unit exceeds or = to 104 degrees. The tub will go up to 106 degrees...go figure. Anywhoo we reset the temp to around 101 and it has stopped tripping the GFCI.

Hope this helps someone in the future.
