We just got our hot tub up and running after have it turned off for the winter months. After filling it, we had the problem with the 40amp gcfi. It would reset and then immediatly trip..flip breaker back to reset no problem and then when I go to turn it on ...it trips..tried countless times...finally went to check wiring at the control panel on the hot tub and found some wires which were wrapped and taped to the back on the control panel had come down...I retaped them back up and did not notice any frayed or broken wires..the grounds looked a little corroded (rusty)..anyways went inside to try the breaker...after 3 trys it stayed on and the hot tub ran normally for 2 days. But last night when I turned on the jets and got in the breaker tripped... I reset the breaker..no problem this time and turn the jets back on...they stayed on for about 2 minutes and then the breaker tripped. I reset the breaker again and figured I would let it run for a day or two with heat 90 degrees and filter cycle on every 4 hours...came home from work... it was still running...turned up the heat...101 degrees and when it reached the temperature I turned on the jets...breaker tripped in under 2 minutes... any suggestions? my wife is busting my balls!!
