My last post was in 2004, so I've been lucky with my 1997 Baja spa so far.

Symptom: (1) Spa-side bar graph shows two red lights. When the TEMP button is pressed, the bar graph shows what I think is the correct temperature, but then it resorts back to the two red lights. I don't know what the red lights mean, but I recall from years ago that the spa-side may be going out.

(2) I also checked the spa level and noticed a 4" drop in level since draining/refilling the night before. Found moisture under spa and eventually located the pump seal leak. Found a new pump seal and will replace it very soon. Until then, I've shut the spa off.

Once the pump seal is fixed, I'll check the heater/controller performance.

Anyone have any ideas about the red lights on this ancient controller? I'm guessing that the pump seal leak caused some cavitation and subsequent flow loss such that the flow switch tripped? Perhaps this is what the red lights are supposed to indicate. Or perhaps the red lights are just a generic error code for whatever is wrong with the system. Who knows?
