Replace the trashy old GFI first; if it's a standard 20 amp or less rated blank face gfci, home depot or other cool hardware store will have them. If it's a big one with a wire loop on the back then this is what you need:

Never trust an old GFCI on an old tub.

If you replace this, and it still trips, then you'll need something else; at which point we're getting a bit experimental, either heater contactor/and-or/noise suppression device to control inductive kickback coming from it.
It's a Simple fix. But do the GFI thing first. When those things get old, they get ugly.
