I have a 1996 Jacuzzi platnuim series spa and it recently tripped the gfi disconnect. I tried to reset it but it instantly trips it again. When it first is reset you can hear the blower moter start to wind up and then it trips. However when the spa was working the blower did the same thing at start up but never tripped.
i tried to disconect all the loads like the blower, pumps. and lights but it still trips.
Any help or ideas?
Brian

Maybe the GFCI breaker is bad.

Since the breaker is OK I would disconnect all the loads at the same time and see if it trips. If it don't trip, start reconnecting the loads one at a time until it trips. If it still trips, with the loads disconnected, I would disconnect the L1 and L2 in the spa panel to check the line coming in. Maybe they overheated over time due to a loose connection and the insulation melted. If it still trips I would say replace the line into the spa. I hope this helps.

I diconnected all the loads and it still tripped.
I then disconnected the L1 and L2 ( i assume you are referring to the loads to the circuit board) and the breaker now did not trip.
What does that mean? L1 looks like it goes through a fuse block.

With all the loads disconnected and it still trips shows me that the loads are OK. By disconnecting L1 and L2 from the circuit board rules out the feeds into the spa. Since the loads are not hooked up to the circuit board and it was still tripping I would say that the circuit board is the bad part. If there is any else hooked up to the circuit board I would disconnect it and try again. But it sounds like the board if no good. You could take it out and take it to the dealer or have a tech come and check it out. If you take it out and go to the dealer explain to the everything that you did . I hope you get it fixed soon.

I unhooked the transformer and it did not trip. So I bought a new transformer and that didnt work. It tripped again with the new transformer.
Hopfully i can find a dealer local and find someone there knowlegable enought to be able to check the circuit board.
I would hate to buy a new circuit board and find out its fine.
Any suggestions on where to purchase a new board?

Any circuit board could be a pain. Go to http://www.jacuzzi.com/ and there are a couple of phone numbers there for customer service. They can tell you where a dealer is located. Or go here http://jacuzzi.techbarn.com/cgi-bin/Web ... ocator.woa to find a dealer. Good luck!
