Hello, new to the board.......
I bought a used spa not long ago. Worked when at owners house, of course. Get to my house, notice that they had the ground off and some jumpers. After MUCH troubleshooting.....
when heater and ground are hooked up at same time, breaker trips. To add to the confusion when ground is unhooked and heater hooked, everything works except for the heater still doesn't seem to come on(and the water is electric of course). Tested heater for ohms and read at 11. ????

So how can I get my heater and ground to hook up without tripping the breaker??

Any ideas much appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Tadiesa

your heating element may have a fracture in the surface of it, causing curent to leak into the water. I wouldn't even put my hand in the tub with the heat on until you try a new element and see if that cures your problem with the tripping when you have the ground installed.
