Here's the story, I saw water leaking from pump shaft a few days ago. Disconnected pump/motor to get part numbers etc. Closed shutoff valves but heater end was exposed to air for about 1 day. Replaced pump seal, reinstalled motor / pump. I blead the air out of the lines, GFCI trips on start. Disconnected everything found out it is the heater causing the issue. I read 14 ohms across the pins, I have no shorts from either lead to ground. Unit worked fine before this(except for leak). The hot tub didn't run low on water, so I don't think it's dry fired. Heater is only 1 1/2 years old. I plan on opening up the heater tomorrow, but don't know if anyone has any ideas. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I'm stumped

Just an update since my last post. I winterized the hot tub for the winter due to the freezing temps and just reopened this weekend. Ironically, there were no issues. Heater worked fine and I am one happy camper!! My guess would be the leaking shaft seal just developed moisture inside the spa electronics which caused it to trip. My 2 cents from this experiience would be to let everything dry out (as best as possible with the situation) and give it a shot again.

Thanks
