Post subject: Leisure Bay - ProShield Spa

General question here. My Leisure Bay Proshield Spa tripped last fall and blew out a number of components. No worries, eh, I had an insurance policy on it. Wrong, our local technician has been out FIFTEEN times since Dec '03 replacing one part at a time (which is never in stock). My question is this: The technician states that all that is wrong is that I have a bad capacitor in the Proshield electrical box. With the small wire connected w/ the capacitor , the pumps wont even start. If bypassed, they will cycle up and down surge, then sag. Does this make sense? I am unfamiliar with this unit and dont even know the part number or what the guy is talking about. I do know where the mystery capacitor goes and am tempted to just buy one and replace it myself, as now my local tech said he wont be able to return for two more weeks with a part.
Do you have any information available which might lead me to the correct part(s) or do you sell them?

Do what? a capacitor in the control box that the pump motor needs to start up?

Just how old is this proshield system? Nothing here sounds right. And can you send me any photos of this thing? (inside and out?) Send to image91 @ spanet.net if possible. This one needs some looking at, because I just don't buy the whole scenario.

Especially since this is an insurance job.
