Can you please help me out?

Like givemebreak message posted on 8/26/2006, I also have

Pinnacle Systems

Model# 26-20-D2B0A1A4A
Serial# 980190004
240v/40A/5500W

I tried to find a placement on the Pinnale Systems site, but they only have model 10, 15, 20 , 30 etc. No Model 26. Yet some of use out there have them.

My biggest concern is there is nothing on their site with a 40 Amps.

Here's my problem. The blower, light and jets and ozone all work OK and have been checked. I have no heat!!! Pretty bad for a hot tub huh!

Fuses have been checked, newly replaced high limit switch (maybe it is faulty ?) It did work once it was replaced, but now nothing.

When we try to call for any (minimum) heat, the breaker trips.

We want to replace the whole unit but nothing matches the side plug panels that we see. However, they plugs are identical to the message from givemebreak on 8/26/06 referenced above.

Is there a way to test my heater at all? I have the controller out of the hot tub.

Please advise. I'm so frustrated.

Don't be frustrated.

You're going after the entire controller when what you really need is probably a heater element.

$35.99 all day long.

To test it all you had to do is remove both element wires, tape them up and turn it on again, turn up the t-stat. If the gfi doesn't trip, then it's the element.

Yours is probably 40amps simply because it's rated for 240 volts only. Meaning 240 volt pump and blower. No big deal. Everything else is just like the rest of them.

Anytime you replace the controller, you should always use/cut-splice new cords in that come with it - unless you can guarantee a match going brand for brand and you verify it yourself. Otherwise it's dangerous to assume that any previous controller is going to match the next one's cord configuration.

And this one is good and cheap too:

We do have a category for GFI tripping... lots of this same answer there.
