I own a Jacuzzi (approximately 1998) hot tub with a Bolboa circuit box. The controls are located on the topside. The hot tub ran fine for two days this season and then died while using it. Since then if I flip the breaker it trips immediately. I isolated the motor and got it running (off the board) I also noticed that one relay is clicking every time it trips. It is the (pump high relay) PS. 50 amp breaker 220v any suggestions? :(

UPDATE!!!!!
Process of elimanation, i discovered that by removing the heater from the circuit, the breaker holds, so i'm guessing that my heater bought the farm...

How do i check to see if my heater is good or not?

I ran a continunity test across the two terminal posts off of the heater, and i'm reading .011, i'm guessing that if the heater was good, i should read continity.

Am i right??

Is there a specific amont of ohms that can tell me if it's good or not....

Also, could the temp sensor or pressure gauge cause the short circuit?

Thanks in advance...

(By the way, this is not the original poster, i'm his buddy who happens to be an electricain helping his lazy azzz out!) ;)

DId you find out what was wrong with yours yet?

Mine is doing the same thing. I checked the heater with a continuity meter and it reads 11.4. Not sure what that means though.

Any ideas?

It was the heater. I replaced the heater coil and works great.
