First off, let me start by saying I have absolutely no clue what model of hot tub this is. I've been trying to get a new filter for it for a month, and no one can seem to figure out what model hot tub I have. I have a serial number of i-4418. Thats all I can find on it. As to my problem...

I bought a house with this included. The couple said they hadnt used it in over 4 years, but it worked fine when they did use it. Well, I spent about a week fixing all the cracked plumbing on it, and now I am trying to get this puppy to run, but the button on the box trips out as soon as I release it. So, I unplugged the heater and cal pump and it still trips. If I keep my finger on the button and dont realease it, it appears to run fine (well, at least the cal pump, light and jet runs fine). I've been trying for half a day now trying to figure out how to get the box down into my hands so I can see whats going on inside of it. All Iknow right now is that there is a green liquid inside leaking out when mess with it. Can that switch I am pushing be bad??

Post some photos of this tub and the equipment.

Without a visual nobody will be able to help you.

First off you should be very careful about trying to override any safety reset circuit, what you may be seeing is what I think is the liquid used in the hi limit or tub circuit breakers like I have on my 93 HS Sovereign, though mine do not leak I suspect yours is, they use expanding pressure of the liquid in a copper bulb and capillary tube to open the circuit for instance if the heater box overheats or the tub temperature is excessive. Thats my guess at what it is, look for whatever reason it ruptured like a dry heater that overheated and is now probably burntout.. If thats what it is there are replacement parts available here at spaparts.
