I have a 1999 Dimension One Spa. Recently I noticed that one of the pumps was leaking, but other than that, everything was working fine. After realizing the valves no longer held a tight seal to remove the pump without bleed-by. I drained all the water and removed the pump. I took the pump to a local spa shop and they replace the "gasket/seal". After installing, and refilling the spa, the pump no longer leaks. Unfortunatley, the spa trips my circuit breaker everyday during the filter cycle. My guess is it has something to do with the "fixed" pump. Any suggestions. I hate to have to drain the spa again and take pump in for servicing...this is getting too expensive!!!

Does it also trip the breaker whenever you run the pumps under normal use? I am thinking you have a GCFI problem - possibly a disconnected ground wire? ALso, I just had the pumps out on my D1 Chairman, the valves also leaked for a bit but I figured the problem was sediment holding the valve open, so, with the pump out (valve leaking) I opened the valve for a second or so allowing accumulated sediment to run out with the water. Problem solved.

It appears that it only trips when the pump that was replace kicks into high gear. It may be important to note that when running the pump on the low setting, the pump struggles but it doesn't really spit out any bubbles. I have a hard time believing it is a disconnected ground wire, as I only unplugged the pump, when it needed servicing and plugged it back in when it was "fixed".

Then you may be right, they may have messed up the startup mechanism on the end of the motor when they took it apart. Again, try flushing the valves rather than draining the tub. Worked for me on my 1999 D1. Good luck.
