Post subject: 110V Hot Spring Classic has power at the GFI plug, but none at the tub

I have a 1997 Hot Spring Classic 110V. The GFI plug has a small light to indicate power. It is plugged in and the power light on the plug is on. No circuits are tripping either on the plug or the house's main service panel. However, the power light on the hot tub no longer comes on and nothing works on the tub whatsoever. This initially happened 5 or 6 weeks ago. Strange thing is that after a week or so, it spontaneously lit up again for a few days and then stopped again (the gfi plug light is still on, but nothing else). Ever since, the spa hasn't worked. I looked inside the service panel for obvious problems i.e. disconnected or broken wiring, but found nothing obvious. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you!

You're going to need a voltmeter to make some determinations if you have power at the spa.

You'll need a meter to check voltage for sure.

I suspect a bad GFCI.

Thank you for your replies Swine and Pageup. I just got out the voltmeter today and plan on doing some testing this weekend (when I can get out there in the daylight). I will post back with my findings. Again, I really appreciate your feedback.

Hello again,

I'm happy to report that it was a bad GFCI. I replaced it and everything is back to normal... I really appreciate the help!

Best Regards!
