Hi, I need to replace the air valve on my 2002 beachcomber 530.
While looking inside the pump compartment I found that the under side of the control area is enclosed. How do I access this area in order to change the valves?

I'm not familiar with your exact tub, but it sounds like you'll be doing some cutting. Many spas have a molded plastic panel that forms the niche for the pumps/controls/etc. Behind it you'll probably find solid foam that you'll be digging through. If this doesn't sound like what you're dealing with, post a picture of the enclosure.

There could be some plumbing directly behind it, so tread lightly. A good box cutter will usually do the trick.

I did some digging and cutting, while I can reach the valve it seems like it has been fibreglassed in or something like that.
I think this may have to wait till spring when I can drain the tub completly and maybe remove the skirt.

Thanks for the advice though.

No problem. It is rare that something like an air control is put behind fiberglass, so check and double check. If you are still sure your best bet will be a dremel or some sort of rotary cutting tool. I keep a cutting wheel for my drill that works if the space isn't too confined.

Good luck!
