First off Hello and thanks in advance for any help.

My tub is a 1999-2000 Jacuzzi z110 or 310 (not sure I bought it used). It does run on 240 and has worked well for a year or more. The control box is a Bolboa H136? I have attached several pictures to help identify what I am not able to explain.

The top side controls are a simple dial and a single push button, it does not display any codes or temp.

My problems is the tub is stone cold, no heat at all and the pump will not run in either low or high. I have a limited mechanical/electrical understanding and have tested the following:

There is 220+ to the control box and the GFCI is not tripped nor is it tripping.

There are no fuses that are blown.

At the bottom of the control box I tested the red and black wires to the heater and they read 220+ with 11 ohms.

When I turn on the power there is a click (relay, I guess) and then there is a humming from either the heater or control box it is hard for me to tell. That lasts for 10-15 seconds and then shuts off. It will cycle on and off with nothing every happening.

I am not able to find a (reset) switch for the high-limit sensor as it appears to be encased in the heater element cylinder along with the temp sensor. (This is all guessing on my part though).

I am not sure where to go from here? any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks again,
Rick

I've got a 2000 jacuzzi echo z240 or essance 340. Right now i have the same problem.

The system powers up, i get a temperature readout on the display, but when i goto turn the pumps on, nothing comes on. After one minute it after being reset it should start to cycle, but it doesn't. this just happened today. i've tried to reset the tub 3-4 times.

1. powers up and gives temp readout on display
2. does not start to cycle after 1 min
3. if you press the temperature button it will show any changes you are trying to make to the temp (i have tried to change it to 99 degrees, but it seems to not want to heat)
4. if you press the pump button, nothing happens the first time. if you press twice the light comes on, light stays on the 3rd time, shuts off the fourth time. (i've checked this so i know the sequence for the light comming on is correct.)

our roomate did manage to pop a breaker in the house and i don't know if that person tried to reset every breaker in the house or if they actually knew what they were doing.

Everything worked fine till today. the water temp was at 99 degrees yesterday, but when i went to check it tonight it was 93/94 degrees, and the pumps wouldn't come on. i shut the power off, waited a min then powered up and tried again. still didn't work.

any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
john

rick have you checked to make sure there is power to the display panel?

Rick,

Are you sure your tub is a 99 or 2000 model? Jacuzzi quit using mechanical controls before that year. In the year you say yours is, it should have a 2 button digital control pad that displays temp. Your control box looks to be of the type with the digital controls. Am I missing something?

John,

Try leaving the spa power disconnected for 20 minutes and try again.

I shut the tub off for more then 20 min (around an hour) it still does the same thing.

you hear the tub click on as soon as power is applied, and then nothing happens. I still get a temp display but nothing else. when i press the button for the jets the light will still come on, and i get the clicking noise like a relay is activating, but nothing else.

its a 2000 jacuzzi with a r576000 control panel. i have a wiring diagram on the inside of the hot tub. i was looking for the high temp switch, and couldn't find it. i need to pull out a bunch of the insulation though in order to get to anything other then the control panel.

I'm thinking that maybe a relay is blown in the box :(
don't know though.

I get no pump and no heat.
water is at 78 degrees and i am loosing 6 degrees every 12 hours.
i know that when it gets to around 50 i am going to have to drain and winterize it.....sucks i live in michigan and am just entering the prime time to want to use it.

Out of curiousity, have you verified you have 240v at the control panel by measuring across the red and black wire at the terminal strip?

Charger thanks for the reply!

I pulled the date from the manuals I have. I will take a look tomorrow to verify....the top control is dial for heat control, single button to turn on pump and lights, (goes through 4 cycles) and a single light (LED?) that turn red when the heater is on.

I have tested and verified 240 at the panel. I did drain it last week because we are now in and out of freezing temps. If I need to fill it to run test I would be glad to do so...

just let me know what you need to help me and THANKS!!!

Sorry to dredge up this old thread, but I'm experiencing the exact same symptoms on the same model hardware as the original poster. On power-up I get the steady red light for 10 seconds followed by light off and nothing. I called Jacuzzi support but they weren't able to offer any suggestions as the startup light isn't an error code - it's just the standard 10 second system check. This model doesn't have the high-temp reset - so that fix isn't available. Did any of the previous posters find a solution?

thanks,
Glen

Here is what happened with mine.

After not receiving any answers I went ahead and ordered/replaced the spa pack. That was not it.....

It was simply a capacitor on the motor. How easy is that! If it sounds like it wants to start and then quits, you can freely rotate the pump shaft then it is just a small capacitor. I had to finally figure that out with the help of a electric motor shop.

Hope that helps...
