I inherited this spa about 5 yrs ago from my brother and it is aprox 15 yrs old. I am looking for any info and a manual on this spa. I have looked all over the internet and can't seem to find anything on this spa or J.E.M. Manufacturing. It does say Jacuzzi on one corner where the basket sits.

This spa has a black control panel on top with push in buttons and says J.E.M. Manufacturing Inc. The heater box also says J.E.M. and also has Hydroquip on it. On the outside of the cabinet it has a medal tag with J.E.M. Manufacturing on it, Model 105H, Serial 6767 and Date 10/11/9.. there isn't a number after the 9. This spa has worked great until a few days ago when we emptied it to clean it and replaced the filter. Now when you touch the water it shocks you. I'm assuming it's the heater, it also sometimes blows the breaker. I have a repair person coming out today to look at it so I will know more later.

Hey Kat,
I am curios as to what the technician found. I feel we all could benefit with the results. There is not a single incident I can think of (short of a "polluted house ground" ) that would result in current in the water if all is wired correctly. :?:

Most likely the heater, could potentially be anything though. First, you may or may not have a bad ground wire in the tub somewhere, but regardless, you really need to check that GFI. That much current leaking to the tub had better be tripping the GFI, and it's not. Could be a faulty GFI, or improperly wired. You will still have to fix the current leak as well.
